HBO Saturday Night Raw

Well there you have it. What was suppose to be a championship fight turned in a WWE style circus. You could have easily replaced Floyd Mayweather with Triple H. For those who missed the fight I will give you a quick summary. It was late in the 4th round I believe. Victor Ortiz had Mayweather up in the corner. Perhaps frustated with Mayweather having him tied up, Ortiz headbutted Floyd. The referee quickly broke it up and deducted a point from Ortiz. Ortiz immediately began apologizing both to the referee then to Mayweather. After the apology Ortiz took a step back and Floyd proceeded to toss a sucker punch. I think Ortiz was ok after the first one cause he then looked at the ref like WTF? The second one put him out. Did the ref Cortez tell them men to "Fight" after the point deduction? I never saw him do that live or during the replay. The fact that Cortez never told the fighters that it was time in should have been an automatic disqualification for Mayweather. What we didn't know was that Vince McMahon had paid off Cortez so that Mayweather could face off against the Undertaker at the next Wrestlemania. This is exactly why so many boxing fans have turned to MMA. All this HBO "Championship" fight needed was some tables, ladders and chairs SMH.

Lets not forget that every WWE match ends with a dramatic post match interview!!

All this fight needed was Ms. Elizabeth roaming the corner ring.  Maybe some Jim Ross yelling ringside.  Or better yet Cortez gets somehow "knocked unconscious" and wakes just in time to see someone knocked down in the ring and he counts them out.  LOL.

All I'ma say was for all that "force" you can generate in a punch when you sucker punch surprise someone, the fact that Ortiz was hit twice, knocked down AND was then able to give a post-fight interview say A LOT about Mayweather's "force" of punch.  For that FM you get a #FAIL.

  1. I agree that Floyd did hit Ortiz with a sucker punch but if the ref says its okay, then it's okay. Honestly, I was wondering if the ref ever said "fight". I guess not. Anyway, Mayweather won and was winning so I'm not mad at all.
By the way, the Undertaker has never lost durning Wrestlemania and Floyd is undefeated in the ring so this should be a fight of epic proportions!
