Week 3 NFL Report Card Grades (Bleacher Report)

As a fan of the Bleacher Report blog site, I am posting their extremely accurate grades for the NFL teams that matter to us after 3 weeks into the season.

Green Bay Packers: C+

Hard as it may be, let’s put the final play of the game aside (although it’s sure to be a topic of discussion for quite a while).
Once again, the Green Bay offense failed to fire on all cylinders, scoring just one touchdown on the evening.

New York Jets: B-

All’s well that ends well, but the Jets' come-from-behind win at Miami was hardly a thing of beauty.
And why should it have been?
A year ago, Rex Ryan’s team lost in South Florida on the final Sunday of the season, a 19-17

San Francisco 49ers: C

While this was obviously not the first loss of the Jim Harbaugh era in San Francisco, the unexpected 24-13 setback at the Metrodome was a bit of a head-scratcher.
Start with the 49ers defense, which allowed a surprising 146 yards rushing to Adrian Peterson and company.

New York Giants: A+

Per usual, the Giants found themselves in one of those “backs against the wall” situations at Carolina, and also per usual, they responded in a big way.
Playing without a number of notable offensive starters, including wideout Hakeem Nicks, running back Ahmad Bradshaw and right tackle David Diehl, it was business as usual

Atlanta Falcons: A

There’s no truth to the rumor that the Falcons would either like to move to the AFC West or play all their games in San Diego.
Atlanta’s 3-0 start—featuring wins over the Chiefs, the Broncos and now the Chargers—is the franchise’s best since the 2004 season

Week 1 Wrap Up

Hello all and welcome to my Week 1 "I'm Going Balls Deep 2012 Football Pool" wrap up.

So J-Rod only got a measly 7 this week. Its too bad I wasn't taken out to dinner on Sunday because I prefer to be wined and dined before I get FUCKED. That's exactly what the spreads did to me in week 1, they FUCKED me. A few thoughts on some of last week's games.

Giants vs Dallas

Well it wasn't a true to form performance for the defending world champs NY Giants. Tony Romo picked apart our depleted secondary in the second half of the game. V Cruz apparently danced way too much salsa Tuesday night as he had absolutely no hands on Wednesday and Nicks still really isn't at 100 percent. As usual Big Blue has already been written off by the so called experts. Its par for the course. Look for the Giants to bounce back against the Bucs as Eli Manning has some backed up elite, MVP, Super Bowl winning spooge to unleash all over the Bucs defense this Sunday.

One-niners vs GB

Now I was conflicted in this game. I originally took SF but changed my mind last minute ONLY because GB was at home. Big mistake on my part for not trusting my gut. As much trash as I talk about the 9ers I do realize this is a team that has a legit shot at making a Super Bowl run. My only critique is that we didn't really get to see anything from them last week. I mean they played GB. A team that was clearly exposed as being false last season. Its not the 9ers fault that they had to play such an inferior opponent. I believe this week's game vs the Lions will be a much tougher match up for SF.

NY Jets vs Bills

Now this was clearly a game that shouted THE PRESEASON MEANS NOTHING!!!! The Jets looked downright horrible all preseason. On paper they are just so much of a better team than Buffalo that again, I originally had the Jets this week as my pick. Again I went back, ignoring my gut instinct and switched to Buffalo because I could not get over how bad the Jets looked in preseason. Well the Jets lit up Buffalo and yet again I got FUCKED.

Here is what I call, The Inner Circle Pool standings after Week 1

Once again Gio "Pablo Escobar" TwoStep stuns everyone with his complete lack of football knowledge week 1 victory. This is the same dude that asked me why Mexico vs Spain wasn't one of the games listed in the pool. SMFH.

That's all I have for now. Be on the look out for my first "LOCK IT IN" picks of the season.

Greatest of All Time

Unlike Troy and Abed, my friendship with Da Man thrives on debates, arguements, disagreements, what have you. So it should come as no surprise that we had yet another disagreement about who is the best defensive first baseman of all time. This debate is a no contest as all the facts are out there for anyone to see. The best defensive first basemen of all time is Keith "Mex" Hernandez. Here are the reasons why.

Lets start off with the fact that he has 11 Gold Gloves, the most of any other first basemen all time. That alone makes him OFFICIALLY the best defensive first basemen ever..... but let's not stop there. Keith Hernandez revolutionized the way first base is played. He single handidly took away the bunt from opposing hitters. He has 1,682 assists, third all time and finished his career with a .994 fielding percentage. His career lasted an astonishing 17 years.

Now unlike Da Man, I don't let my emotions cloud my judgement. I believe that Don Mattingly is right behind Mex defensively and not by much. On top of that he was a beast of a hitter. If I had to say who was the best all around first basemen of all time, Mex may not make my top 5 but Mattingly certainly would.

Comment as you see fit.

We have a "COMMENT" tab for this so please post accordingly.

***And comment I shall... Here's my take
"I'll make this quick. Best defensive 1B of all time would included a lot of great players. But as J-Rod stated above it really boils down to two players, Keith Hernandez and Don Mattingly. Period. As usual, let's go inside the numbers... DM had 9 gold gloves 2nd to only KH with 11, who posted the 11 consecutively (at feat to his own, very impressive). DM's would have been 10 consecutive but in 1990 McGwire won a GG. Rrrrrright, because Mark was known for his glove. Apparently voters dig the long ball too. But a real test of GOAT for defensive 1B is two things, Fielding Percentage and Errors, the two things the individual controls, would you agree? Assists can be marred by a clumsy 2B. KH during his 11 year run had a FPct of .994. DM, his was .995. KH during his run, had four seasons in which he posted double digits errors. DM during his run NEVER posted a season with double digit errors. So Donnie Baseball beat out Hernandez in the two most critical categories for defense. All KH has is two more "awards" than him. Case closed." -DM

But I will respond regardless. Keith Hernandez not only has MORE gold gloves than Mattingly but he changed the way the position is played forever thus make him a "revolutionary" player. Mattingly and every other first basemen after Keith adapted his way of playing defense. Although Mattingly was a great defensive first baseman he was not The Greatest. That distinction goes to Keith Hernandez. This is fact. You may continue to live in denial but history is already written and will never be changed. Keith Hernandez.... the great defensive first baseman off all time. GOAT much like Biggie.

The 2012 San Francisco 49ers

So here we are in at the cusp of a new MLB season and J-Rod is still yappin away about the NFL. Well what else do you want me to do? In any case today I have decided to discuss your 2011 NFC West Conference Champions the San Francisco 49ers. Now this team has been making a lot of buzz in the off season. Lets discuss what has become of this franchise.

1. Acquired Randy Moss

Now Randy Moss was one of the most prolific wide receivers of my era. His skills were second to none. Unfortunately he never used those skills to their full potential. Much like Terrel Owens, one good POP by a defensive back was all you would need to take him out of a game. Now at the ancient age of 51 he has signed with the 49ers. All the 49ers did is add a player who has a history of being a known distraction into a team that was pretty well grounded last season How does a washed up wide out help a team with a third stringer as the starting quarterback? Your guess is as good as mine.

2. Acquired Mario Manningham

Manningham was a key factor in the NY Giants championship run last season. He is most definitely a good wide out. The problem is that he had an ELITE quarterback in NY getting him the ball. Now he goes to SF which was at one point in time the home of ELITE quarterbacks. Nowadays? Not so much. Look for Manningham's numbers to drop (by no fault of his own) significantly this up coming season.

3. Acquired Brandon Jacobs

On paper this move makes sense. Jacobs is a big bruising back who can take some of the load off of Al Gore giving him more time to warn us about the environment being destroyed. On "paper" this is a good move. In reality it is not. Brandon Jacobs is now and has always been an OVERRATED running back. The guy had 2 good seasons.... count them.... 2!!!! He spent the last couple of seasons whining to the press about how he was unhappy cause he wasn't getting enough carries, how it wasn't fair that he wasn't the Giants feature back. Drama Bitch anyone? All he has left to do is get his own reality show and hang with Ocho and TO.

The San Francsico 49ers had a decent time last season, not good but decent. They played way above their skill level and that is commendable. But looking at what they have done thus far in the off season I would honestly be surprised if they ended the season 9-7 in 2012. The front office has taken a decent team that was once this....

and turned them into this....

MLB 2012 PREDICTIONS

Hello all and welcome to my 2012 MLB predictions. I will be reviewing teams individually (in order of relevance to me) and predict their final standing come the end of 2012 season. Without further adieu I give you my 2012 predictions.

NY Mets

The NY Mets enter the 2012 season with no pitching, no hitting, no defense and no money. They lost their best offensive player (Jose Reyes) to Florida so its safe to say 2012 won't be "good times" over at Flushing. On the bright side Johan Santana is healthy again. He can now watch the bullpen blow all his leads from the dugout as he has in previous seasons. There is absolutely NO CHANCE (Vince McMahon voice) for this team and its a safe bet they will finish in last in the NL East.

Tommorrow's prediction.... NY Yankees

Super Lintendo

Now as I have stated in an earlier post, I am no way a NBA expert. I haven't been into basketball since the last time the Knicks made it to the Finals and lost to the Spurs (fuck I'm old). I'm still debating with Da Man as to whether or not the Oklahoma Thunder actually exist. In any case no one has addressed the giant Asian elephant in the room so I guess it falls on me.

 My ex-coworker Warren

After the Knicks won their third straight game in a row and Linsanity exploded I wasn't impressed. I said to Da Man.... "What's all the hype about? They've only won 3 games!!! This is all hype cause he's Asian." Mind you this was after their third win so its way before the Mayweather tweet. But after Lin's "Eli Manning" type heroics last night I have to say I am a believer. I'm going to start watching basketball again and its all because of Jeremy Lin. Some will say that's "fair weather" fandom. I disagree. I dont think the Knicks are going to win the NBA title. And I know for a fact this hot run they're on won't last. But Jeremy Lin has made the Knicks "Linspectable" again. Not only is NY watching but so is the rest of the county. Didn't the Giants just win the Super Bowl just 10 days ago? In NY sports days that might as well been 5 years ago. The Knicks and Lin are the latest media sports sensation and rightly so.

I mentioned the Floyd Mayweather tweet (Click here for more on that). Now 3 games ago I would have agreed with Money. But now he gets a KAMAN!!! The Lintention Lin is getting isn't "JUST" cause he's asian. Granted that is a factor but there is more to it than that. With 27 points Tuesday night, Lin now has scored 136 in his first five games as a starter. It's a record since the NBA-ABA merger, breaking Shaquille O'Neal's 129. No other player has done that, black, white, puerto rican or asian (Tribe plug). On top of that he has single handily turned the Knicks around while their "star" players were out.

Again I am no NBA expert but I can tell the difference between hype and truth. And in my Linpinion, this guy is the truth.

- J-Rod

*The J-Rod and Da Man show would like to apologize for J-Rod's annoying use of Lin nicknames.

Coming this fall 2012... The Wire.. Streets is still watching

The HBO smash hit "The Wire" is getting a spinoff. "The Wire... Streets is still watching" will be a sequel that takes place after the events in Baltimore. The new series will be more expansive as it stretches from the streets of New York City, New Jersey and North Carolina.

Rumored synopsis:

Ice Berg Slim (played by Da Man) and NJB (played by G$) are the heads of a criminal drug empire rooted in New York City known as "Da Nite Nite crew" but that has spread to New Jersey and North Carolina.  Having expanded their empire under the radar both men have in their mind become virtually untouchable. That is until two NYPD homicide detectives (played by J-Rod and C Gutta) start connecting the dots to what had seemed to be a string of random murders back to members of Da Nite Nite crew. Now working with a special task force assigned to bring the drug syndicate down, the detectives will use every resource available to not only bring down the drug kingpins but to also escape with their lives.

unBIASED

J-Rod speaks from emotion.  He gets caught up in the moment. He's that guy that would get back with their ex because she looks HOT now.

I'm more analytical. Numbers play a huge factor and small sample sizes just won't cut it. I'm the guy the realizes she does look hot but remembers that ex did set fire to the living room over a text message.

J-Rod has every right to feel the team that finished at the top of the mountain should have the highest grade but it's not a popularity contest. We leave that to the "Power Rankings". Power Rankings are the "right now" factors. The report card is the TOTAL look at how you did overall, not how you finished.

Case in point, this "issue" J-Rod has with my ranking the Giants a B- and why the team who won it all should be an A+. "It's not rocket science", he said.  It's not. It is however very simple math. Power Rankings tell us who is the best at the end. But the article was a report grading the season as a whole. Does he realize to be an A+ student you'd have to be A+ student ALL YEAR LONG?! The Giants were C students, with inexplicable losses to SEA, PHI and WAS (twice). Also scrapped by ARI and DAL. Cmon. This is simple.

How about a perspective not my own. How about from a site that J-Rod has often quoted material from and posted links to. The Bleacher Report. Here's their article on the final report card for the Giants. We gave a overall team grade, they broke down every position. But it's difficult to get a clear total average with letters (A, D-, B+, etc...) so let's associate numbers to them.

A+ = 12
A   = 11
A-  = 10
B+ = 9
B   = 8
B-  = 7
C+ = 6
C   = 5
C-  = 4
D+ = 3
D   = 2
D-  = 1
F    = 0

According to that article, the Giants finished with a total score of 84* (Ed's note: Their coaches grade was not taken into consideration as our grades here did not quantify a coaching impact). So 84 averaged out equals 9.33. Which falls where on the above scale? What? I didn't hear you? A+? No. B+, two points away from where I had them.  B students.

*That article was also gracious on the grades for defense, as well all know the Giants D for a large majority of the season was nowhere near playing like their playoff caliber style until Week 16.

-DM

Note: I have noooo idea why J-Rod felt he had to change all of his grades because I gave the Giants a lower grade. Makes no sense but that does sound like him...

Jumping the Shark

Good morning,

As many of you are aware the J-Rod and Da Man Show "jumped the shark" late yesterday evening. Da Man posted his grades for the NFL 2011-2012 season and gave the newly crowned world champions a B-. Now this might have been ok if all the other teams were ranked lower but they were not. Da Man somehow thought it would be ok to rank teams like the 49ers and Packers who the Giants thoroughly defeated higher. We here at the J-Rod and Da Man show have always promised to give our viewers an unbiased and "INTELLIGENT" view of the world and we have failed you in that capacity due to last night's post.

I understand that we have lost the public trust and will have to work hard to restore it. We are taking swift action to correct the horrendous and idiotic post that was made last night. No decision has been made on Da Man's future with the show but he has released a statement via his manager stating that he is taking "time off" to reflect on his actions. Its quite possible that Da Man was under the influence of some type we he made that post. We will keep you up to date on this ongoing tragedy. Again please accept our sincerest apologies.

NFL Grades 2011-12 Season (Updated)

In light of "Da Man's" grading system I have to unfortunately change my grades.  Seeing how NO team can be graded higher than the World Champs (its common sense) my updated grades are below

Now that the NFL season has come to a close, I think it's only fair we grade the teams that matter to the JRADM. Namely, the Giants, 49ers, Packers, Jets, Falcons and Patriots (Ed's note: I realize no one here is a Patriots fan outright but we all share either a loving loathing feeling to the Brady Bunch).

Hopefully you'll find the opinions on this post to be "fair and unbiased" but.... you won't.  Let's go in order. And by order, I mean order of exit...

New York Jets
DM - The Jets were the most inconsistently consistent team this season.  Win 2, lose 3. Win 3, lose 2. Win 3, lose 3. Preseason favorites to go the Super Bowl, right? Yes, if you listened to the Rex Ryan and the ENTIRE Jets team before the season started.  Thankfully, Rex isn't the only beat writer for the NFL and there are a few more people noting what the Jets really are/were.  A really good defensive team that's still living in the 2009-10 season when teams "feared" that Jets D. And a underachieving offense that is STILL waiting for Mark Sanchez to step up (believe me, I know a thing or two about waiting on a QB to step up. More on that later in the post).  Mark can't do this, Mark, NO, don't do that.  By the end of the Jets season, the locker room imploded; calling out guys, finger pointing and Mark was been seen as a babied QB. But all this showboating (and lack of follow through) is facilitated by the one man who just stay quiet, Rex. With that all said they STILL had a chance to make the playoffs but ultimately couldn't, finishing 8-8. GRADE: D

J-Rod - The Jets were a colossal failure this season. This is the team that Rex Ryan named "the team to beat". They came in with what many believed to be the best defense in the NFL.... KAMAN!!! Their defense finished being ranked 17th in the league. Mark Sanchez is NOT an elite QB. He is now and will always be a not ready for prime time player. The only thing the Jets rank first in is bull shit hype.  GRADE: F-

Atlanta Falcons
DM - The Falcons are tough to peg to start. They were 10-6 and with the exception of a Week 1 loss to the Bears (because who can gauge a team after one loss) and a Tampa Bay team that started off hot, their losses are to Green Bay, Houston and two to New Orleans. All teams that won their respective divisions. So where did the Falcons struggle? Beating "elite" teams but also beating them when it mattered the most, the playoffs. The Falcs posted the best record in the NFL last season and wound up losing right off the bat in the Divisional game to the Pack (yes, the eventual Super Bowl champs). This season they matched up with the Giants (yes, this years Super Bowl champ). But regardless of how "hot" the Giants came into the game or if the matchups weren't there for them, scoring only 2 points total at home is not becoming of a team picked for a deep run into the playoffs. Matt Ryan continues to excel in the regular season but can he get his team over the hump with playoffs winsssss (plural). GRADE: C+

J-Rod - Its fitting that the Falcons plays in Atlanta. The home of the MLB team that plays great in the regular season but falls by the wayside in post season. To use another baseball analogy, Matt Ryan is like the Barry Bonds of the NFL except less roids and talent. I mean Ryan is a good QB. He is an accurate passer and reads defenses extremely well. What he lacks is that "umph" that separates "good" quarterbacks from "elite" quarterback. The "elite" quarterback can carry your team. The "elite" quarterback makes his entire team, not just the offense but the defense and special team play on another level just by his leadership and drive. The "elite" quarterback doesn't fold like the NY Mets in spring training under pressure. Matt Ryan is a good QB but he will never be "elite" and neither will his team.  GRADE:D +

Green Bay Packers
J-Rod - Discount Double Check! Yes, Aaron Rodgers and his Green Bay team. The favored sons of the NFL. The recently dethroned champs. The Packers have always had a mystique about them. Arron Rodgers has continued that Packers tradition of winning. I know I ridicule this team 24/7 but most of that is to annoy a certain cheesehead. This is a really good team with one major flaw.... defense. In all honesty this team was one or two good defensive players from repeating this season. But alas they faced the mighty big blue and were sent home packing. Still can't take anything away from this team and I expect them to address the defense situation this off season.  GRADE:C+

DM - Green Bay. Hmmmm. The defending Super Bowl champs. Started the season 13-0. Aaron Rodgers was running away with the MVP. The team was a offensive juggernaut averaging over 28 points per game in that run. Finished 15-1, home field throughout. Their defense had some holes in it but only because they gambled. A lot. Lead the NFL in INTs. But they could afford too with DDC (cmon, you can figure it out...) under center. But alas, they got dismantled lost in the Divisional game to the would-be new Super Bowl champ, Giants. I think if the Pack had not won the Super Bowl last season and had the same record/result the grade would have been higher, as they would have accomplished much more. But defending the title by going 13-0, then 15-1 without one playoff win and lose at Lambeau no less, ultimately seals their grade. GRADE: B

San Francisco 49ers
J-Rod - Why is this irrelevant team here? Who dares sully this post with falseness? The San Francisco numbers had a great run last year under very odd circumstances. I mean how often do you see a team go 13-3 in the regular season without a real quarterback? Alex Smith did just enough to get by last season but the true reason for the 9ers success was their defense. In this new offensive era a great defense will only get you so far. This is the quarterback era and if that guy on your team is not in the "elite" circle you aint gonna get that lombardy trophy any time soon. A lot of NFL team took the 49ers for granted contributing to their winning record. This upcoming season the league will be ready. I expect the niners will do ok but nothing like this season thus once and for all solidifying the falseness that their season was.
GRADE:C+

DM - Flashback to the previous season. Da Man stated on this very show (before we went national) that the "sexy pick" 49ers would win the NFC West. J-Rod laughed in my face but I would not wavier from my bold prediction. So what did the 9ers do, they started 0-5. Great. Still hope. Finished 6-10. Crud. So to start this season I was a bit hesitant to say the least but still optimistic. What's your point, the grade is for this season! The point is it's the same exact team as the previous season yet under new head coach Jim Harbaugh, the team flourished. Beating some of the top teams in the league and finishing 2nd best in the NFC at 13-3. The defense obliterated teams and did not allow a 100-yard rusher or a single rushing touchdown until week 16. Both The 9ers were one special teams play* away from capping off an incredible run to the Super Bowl. However, destiny resided with another team. This teamed proved itself worthy of their grade. GRADE: A

New England Patriots
J-Rod - The Patriots did what they always do. Win and Win and Win. This team year after year just dominates. Tom Brady is a living legend and always finds a way to succeed regardless of the personnel he is surrounded with. I really can't say anything bad about this team. Whenever this team doesn't win the championship their season is deemed a failure. Not many teams can say that. They're EXPECTED to win time and time again. Unfortunately this time they faced a team that was destined to win it all at the Super Bowl. I mean you can't beat destiny can you? GRADE:B-

DM - Every year the Pats are expected to be right in the hunt come playoff time (they are like the Yankees of New England...). But for the last few years the Pats have had some considerable playoff busts. Even midway through this season questions about would this Pats team, led by Brady but surrounded by an average offensive core, would arise. Could they win it all with just Belichik and Brady? Can they stop teams from scoring, enough to give Brady a chance to win it late? Their D was atrocious. Last in the league. Their O, top 3 in the league. Ultimately finishing at 13-3, home field throughout. But this was expected right? Nothing new here, right? AFC East, check. AFC champs, check. Super Bowl champs? Not so fast, they had the unfortunate task of beating playing the Giants. Clearly a team, NE just. Can't. Seem. To beat. I don't care which Giants team played in the Super Bowl. The 7-7 or the winners of the last 5, they had the advantage mentally. And the Pats knew it. Blame Welker's drop (Gizze does). Blame not executing in the 4th (Riley does). Blame Brady's throws (Da Man does). In the end they were play(s) short in a game they usually win. Just not when they're playing the Giants. GRADE: A-

New York Giants
J-Rod - What can I say about the champs that hasn't been already said? This team was left for dead after losing to the Redskins (I was holding the shovel). But WOW what a ride! They took that loss as a wake up call and started ripping out the wins. Sure the bulk of their games were "interesting" and they probably made me age many more years to my life but the end result was perfection. Eli Manning morphed into what he said he was all season, ELITE. His poise, leadership, and self confidence just bloomed at the right time. He not only solidified his place in NY Giants history but in the process made a case for 2 Mannings to be enshrined in the Hall of Fame when their careers are over. The Giants defensive line was dominant all season and the secondary fell into place at the right time. Most seem to forget that the Giants secondary was banged up most of the season. In the final regular season games and into the playoffs the Giants secondary showed what they can do when all their key players are healthy. The wide receiving core is young and talented. Brandon Jacobs got his groove back. Coughlin is one of the premier head coaches in the game. He never loses his cool and knows how to lead. This is a team that underachieved most of the regular season and played on the level they're capable of at the end of the season straight into the Super Bowl. The odds makers have 5 other teams above the Giants as Super Bowl favorites for next season. Does that surprise anyone? Underdogs....that's exactly the way this team likes it.  GRADE: A+

DM - This was the easiest grade of all the teams by far. The Giants won the Super Bowl. Had you heard? You'd never know on this show (keep your sarcasm meters on people). They had a great epic run at the veeeeery end of the season and through the playoffs (Ed's note: see GB last year). It's easy (for New Yorkers at least) to get caught up in the hysteria. Don't believe me, google LINSANITY. SMH. However. Since the grade reflects the WHOLE season and not the last 3 games or so, the total body of work is taken into account. As you just read, J-Rod was ready to bury his team after the Skins lost (Ed's note: we might post the IM convo on the Monday after that game, LOL). By this point, they were 7-7. But I'd like to go back one week earlier, to the Cowboys game. The JPP Tip Drill game. The GMen had lost 4 straight prior to that win in DAL after starting 6-2. This team was the epitome of underachieving mediocre. The secondary, abysmal. The so-called "pass rush", non-existant. Injuries? Every team has injuries, go out and play. But they wouldn't do it. That JPP block doesn't happen and it would have been 6 straight and no playoffs. But.... they turned it around. Won the NFC East thanks to Romo doin what he do baby. And were dubbed the hottest team going in. Please note they won 3 of the last 4 games, thats hot baby (sarcasm meter going off?). But so did the 9ers, with 3 straight coming in, (no, it's ok you guys were hot. Giants all the way baby...). The point is you can't be a C or D student for most of the year if not all, ace a few tests at end and expect an A. You're a C+, B- at best. Easy. GRADE: B-

NFL Grades 2011-12 Season

GRADE: C+

GRADE: B+

But if I am too say this team was false and yet they managed to end up 1 game away from the Super Bowl then I gotta grade them high. Contradiction.... thy name is J-Rod.
GRADE: A-

GRADE: A

Easy. GRADE: B-

Now what?

Now that the NFL season is officially over (NY GIANTS WORLD CHAMPS) I am left with a hollow feeling in my stomach. I mean.... what else is there? Pitchers and catchers reporting soon mean NOTHING to me. I gave up on the NBA right around the time the Knicks were beaten by the Spurs in the Finals. So whats left for me? Do I jump in "fun tee" first into this year's MLB season? If so I would have to follow any team other than my Mets to get any enjoyment out of it. So this year I have decided to follow the Fozzie Bears volume 2.

Who are the Fozzie Bears you might be asking? Well they are none other than the Boston team formerly known as the Red Soxs. Now that Fozzie V is their manager its only fitting that the team gets renamed.

Lets be honest, the similarites between the two are so obvious. From the voice to the retarded facial expression, Bobby V and Fozzie Bear might as well have been born twins. Now anyone that knows J-Rod knows that I was a big Bobby V fan when he managed the Mets and was really upset when he got fired. I have waited for his return much like the scientologists wait for the mother ship to take them home. Although he did not return to Queens I will certainly follow all of his exploits now that he's in Boston.
