HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
We here at the J-Rod and Da Man show want to wish everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving. While you and your loved ones are stuffing your faces with turkey and mash potaters, please take a moment to remember how this all so wonderful holiday came about.
Remember to be grateful to all the American Indians that were slaughtered for us to celebrate this joyous holiday. If it wasn't for them being here first and trying to keep their land, this day wouldn't have been possible. HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL!!!

Fuck you, PAY ME!
Yea, I know. It's been all J-Rod all the time the last few weeks. Even with the 49ers a-whippin the G-Men last week and then that very same team losing to Philly last night. Without Vick. There's a ton of stuff to get into but I haven't had the time of late, please bare with me peoples...*
But here's a quick something for J-Rod just so he knows he made this bet:
(You know how old people get when then don't take there meds)

From Bleacher Report.com: "San Francisco 49ers Yet To Prove Themselves"
The San Francisco 49ers (8-1) took yet another step towards the NFL's best when they defeated the New York Giants (6-3) in their biggest test this season.
Even without Frank Gore, the 49ers managed to pull away a win from the Giants who have made their mark this season with late-game scores, and San Francisco was a Justin Smith batted ball away from possibly falling into that same category.
It was the biggest win of the season for the 49ers, who also have wins against the Lions and Eagles to add to their big win against New York on Sunday.
However, many are not convinced this team is legitimate, as was plain to see watching the numerous Monday-morning quarterback shows on television.
Why is San Francisco not the overwhelming favorite as the No. 2 team in the NFL?
The Bears have something to do with that after dominating the Lions on Sunday. Even the 49ers' remaining schedule can take some credit. And that may be the problem or the only thing stopping Harbaugh and the 49ers from being called the game's elite.
Unproven.
So far, San Francisco's signature wins have come against the Eagles, Lions and Giants, but it was the recent developments that have many second guessing just how signature these wins are.
The Bears beat down the Lions after the 49ers just scathed by in Week 6, the Eagles lost to the Cardinals and fell to 3-6 and the Giants were on the road without their starting running back.
But how really proven is this team from San Francisco?
The references three paragraphs up are on the table and even their narrow victories against the Browns, Bengals and Redskins seem to portray a team just getting by with a serviceable quarterback and gritty defense.
In the end, it will be key matchups with the AFC's elite that ultimately shows us what kind of a team this really is and what kind of respect they will get Monday morning.
Thanksgiving Day is the first step on the road against the Baltimore Ravens who will be a playoff team and will attempt to have a field day with their relentless defense. The second and last step comes at home against the Steelers on December 19. A statement game if there ever was one.
Until then, we can expect the Monday-morning quarterback to talk all about how this team cannot possibly be the second-best team in the NFL, even though their record stands far and above the next best competition. A first-year head coach plays into that analyst's opinion, as does Alex Smith under center.
There is zero chance they will give any consideration to a team with Smith at the helm. However, they may miss the key fact that Harbaugh is pulling the strings; Harbaugh is making Smith look good and Harbaugh is in control.
Without that thinking, the 49ers are a surprise team making moves deep into the playoffs. But this team has been here all along. They just didn't get the credit for it.
*The comments expressed above are from the bleacherreport.com website. It completely expresses the thoughts and opinions of J-Rod.... well the parts that say the 9ers are unproven.

Pacquiao - Marquez Wrap up
I know this blog is a tad late but here it is. So while I was watching HBO's PPV extravaganza I realized they jacked up the price to $60 on Fidos. I remember when it was $50 on standard and $60 for HD. Now its $60 on standard??? Maybe I should check my cable bill more often but I digress. Now the fight to wrap up the trilogy was actually boring. It was no where near the excitement level of Pac - Marquez 1 and 2. There were little explosive moments (if any). Manny fought a very defensive fight. Many times during the fight he seemed flat out frustrated. Marquez fought most of the fight going backwards and countering when the opportunity presented itself. If there was anything impressive about the fight it was Manny's footwork. How easily and quickly he could move out of harms way after tagging Marquez with a punch. But I think that's what made the fight so boring. There weren't any toe to toe long action sequences we have grown accustomed to by these two fighter. It was I tag you... you tag me back... now lets just move around the ring. Going into this fight I was sure that there was no way Floyd Mayweather could beat Manny. I think Floyd didn't think he could beat Manny. I no longer feel that way as I sure Money doesn't either.
Mayweather is the best defensive boxer in the world. He maybe the best defensive boxer of all time. He just doesn't allow himself to get hit which of course makes for a boring fight. He covers up, defends and counters, a style that Manny Pacquiao hates.Floyd is faster, stronger and more elusive than Marquez. If Manny found it difficult to get anything going offensively against Marquez (as much as I hate to say it) he will find it completely impossible against Floyd.
As Jim Lampley said after the fight, the only true winner of the night was Floyd Mayweather who is now officially the best pound for pound fighter in the world. I don't see Floyd ducking Manny anymore. Whatever doubts he may have had are surely washed away. Floyd will fight Manny next year in what will be the biggest cash cow in pro boxing history. A fight that I thought would never happen and if it did, one that Manny would win. I don't see that happening anymore. The only way Manny beats Floyd is if the fight becomes an all out war which we all know Floyd won't let happen. Floyd has never lost his composure in the ring (excluding the Ortiz fight). He doesn't let a fighter rattle him. He sticks to the game plan and just wins. It makes for boring fights but he doesn't care as long as he gets the W. Manny will have to do something that no fighter has been able to do, get through Floyd's defense. The style he used against Marquez has no chance against Floyd. This is all speculation as we dont know if this fight will even happen. In my opinion it will.

This weekend FIGHT NIGHT!!!!!
Pacquiao-Marquez III
Here is a look back at the history of tomorrow's fight
X GONNA GIVE IT YOU..... with Chlorox?!?!?
Apparently DMX has decided to put himself on work release. The X walked into a Waffle House in SC at 4AM and decided to clean up the place. One of the workers who was mopping at the time told DMX that he was a huge fan. So what did the X do to repay him???? He mopped the floor for him. DMX was quoted as saying "I was in a good mood and felt that I would do that for him since it was 4am and [the employee] had been working all night."
The rapper adds, "The minute you get too big to mop a floor or wipe a counter, that’s the exact minute you have life f**ked up."

And all is right with the world again
Well folks I am back in form as I went 2 for 2 in my Week 9 LOCK IT IN picks. My Giants led by the "ELITE" Eli Manning went to Mass and gave Brady and his boys another loss. Manning continues to play impressively leading the G-Men to a 6 and 2 record. Next week its on to face LaRoy and the 7-1 One Niners. This will be the first time in many years that myself and Da Man can talk smack about each other's perspective teams. I know this maybe a tad premature since the spreads aren't really official til about tomorrow but Giants over the 9ers.... LOCK IT IN!!!!!!
This is the part of the season where we see how real this team is playing NE (Win), the 9ers, Eagles, Saints and GB in that order. After defeating the 9ers this coming Sunday the Eagles should not pose much of a threat. It seems at this point more than likely the Pack will be undefeated for the December 1st match up giving Big Blue the honor of handing them their first loss.
The Jets find themselves in a 3 way tie in the AFC East (Eli says You're welcome Greg). The once written off Gang Green find themselves in prime position to make a playoff run.
I'll be back with my Week 10 LOCK IT IN PICKS segment later in the week.

Safe House
If it seems like we haven't touched on sports of late here on the show, you're absolutely right. So let me be the first to continue that trend with a trailer.
New movie "Safe House" starring Denzel (yea, he's earned one-name only status) and Ryan Reynolds (he has not). Seems intriguing. J-Rod, your thoughts...?

What Money Will Buy You
I know what you thinking...
...is that a Bat symbol??
On what looks to be a Cadillac?
Ok, that IS a Cadillac
And it SAYS "BATMOBILE"?!?! WTF is this car. Is this off the set of "The Dark Knight Rises"? Nah, can't be. With California plates? Last I checked Gotham was an east coast city. Who owns this car???
The Beibmobile |
FML. Of course he does.
"Dubbed the Bat-illac, the car is actually a Cadillac CTS-V customized by Ryan Friedlinghaus, the founder of West Coast Customs and star of the TLC reality series Street Customs...The Batman tribute features the comic book character's logo on the front and back of the car, with doors that open in reverse similar to the Rolls Royce Drop Head Phantom Coupé, and even has a "Batmobile" nameplate on the trunk."

Why does the world love Apple products?
So I'm a PC. You know in the commercials I am that dude standing opposite of Justin Long. Been a Windows boy since 1995 so you can understand my confusion with the world's obsession with Apple products. I get the iPod. I own one so I get it. Its a great device and improves with each update. But what about the Macs and iPads? I've own PC laptops my entire life and really never got into the tablet phase until recently. I really like the Samsung Galaxy (DROID) and was considering purchasing one. As fate would have it I now find myself in the possession of Macbook Pro and an iPad (Gen 1). After using both devices for about 2 weeks here is how I feel so far..... still confused.
So in order to ge the full Mac experience I decided to make the Macbook my main system for itunes. I copied all my music, videos, pics, etc from the pc to the mac and started getting busy. So far, not impressed. I dont see the hype. Its a pc with a slightly different interface. Mind you I did have to use Google to find out how to do things here and there but again I don't see anything that makes the Mac experience any different or better than the PC thus far. I am sure Da Man will point out a plethora of features I have yet to discover but up until that happens I have to say that the world's Mac obessision is basically buying into the hype of Apple.
So I synched up my iPad with iTunes and started going at it. So far again I am unimpressed. Its basically what I always thought it was.... a giant iPod. I haven't found anything it does that my current iPod doesn't. I can play the same games, music, videos and run the same apps. Granted its a bigger screen but does it merit shelling out all that extra cash for a bigger screen? I think not. I mean I was able to bash D.S. in Infinity Blade on a iPod while he was on a iPad.
This past summer I ran into the elusive Riley Freeman. I noticed his cell phone and asked "No iPhone?" to which he responded "iPhone?? iPhones are overrated. FU J-Rod". I couldn't agree with him more (Not the FU part).
Comment as you see fit.
Note: This post was created on a Mac.... still unimpressed

OK, I'M RELOADED!!
(queues up "Show Me What You Got" - Jay-Z)
"whatchu want me to do, I'm sorry. I'm back..."
1st order of business, applaud J-Rod for holding the spot down while I was away.
2nd order of business, fire J-Rod for holding the spot down while I was away.
I take one little "break" to deal with the 9-5 and this is what I get? Our show renamed? To "JUST J-ROD!!!!!" none the less?? Though in all fairness, I would expect nothing less than "writing me off the show" from J-Rod. It's why we started this show, he thinks he's better than me...
Don't fault him though, it's been a rough week for J-Rod and his fans:
He posted about me not having HBO (Got it. Watched S1 & 2 of "How To Make It...". "Boardwalk" here we go...).
He went 0-2 in the "Lock It In" picks (I forgot how GOOD 0-7 Miami was <put your sarcasm meters on people>).
Almost got sonned by Sponge Mitch Spooge Pants.
"Locked In" the Giants to beat the Pats (WOW) and will jinx my 9ers at the Skins this Sunday (though, that 9ers chick lets me run a spread offense and go deep).
Posted the Top 10 QBs in the NFL through W8 (FTR, ANY list that has Romo on it is discredited).
Then the kicker... impregnated wifey and made a shirt about it?? (That is purely a joke and he knows I would never wish pregnancy on him, LOL).
Rough ass week indeed.
But, my dear friends all is right with the world once more. I am here. Thou divine intervention. Thou savior. Thou (Da) Man.

NFL Week 9 "LOCK IT IN" Picks of the Week
So I was 0 for 2 in my LOCK IT IN segment for Week 8. I am guaranteeing a bounce back this week. D.S. has tied me in our football pool and that is something I can not allow.
Here are my Week 9 "LOCK IT IN" Picks of the week:
NY Giants at New England Patriots
The Giants are coming off a sluggish win over the Miami Dolphins. With that said Eli continues to put up big numbers. The Pats are the Pats but they have a weak secondary. I expect this game to be a shoot out with the Giants just edging the Pats.
Final Score: Giants 33 Partiots 30
San Francisco 49ers at Washington Redskins
Just this week I told Da Man that the 49ers were pretenders while the Giants are contenders. Of course I said this to just antagonize him. Unfortunately he know thats and just pretty much ignored me. I think the 9ers are legit and I am looking for them to beat up on Da Skiiiiiiinzzzzz. You're welcome for the above image.
Final Score: 49ers 27 Redskins 10
