Now back to our relevant stories

I apologize for the two earlier posts provided by Da Man. I understand that its all Super Bowl all the time right now but Da Man is still stinging from his 49ers loss and would rather do away with the NFL season (much like I do around May with baseball and the Mets). Now back to FOOTBALL!!!

Money May calls Manny directly to discuss possible May 5th fight

Ok this isn't football news and yes the Giants are the biggest thing in sports right now but lets give some other lesser important news some air time. Floyd Mayweather Jr called Manny Pacquiao directly to discuss making the May 5th mega fight happen. In a e-mail to ESPN Mayweather said the following:

"I called him and asked him about us fighting May 5 and giving the World what they want to see," Mayweather's email read. "I also let him know we both can make a lot of money. He ask about a 50/50 split and I told him no that can't happen, but what can happen is you can make more money fighting me then you have made in your career. I also let him know I'm in control on my side but he needs to get on the same page with his promoter so we can make this fight happen."

"I told him to tell his promoter that he only wants to fight Mayweather and that this fight will be the biggest fight in history. His manger came to my boxing gym a few months ago and we spoke about getting the defamation of character lawsuit dropped against me and about both fighters taking the random blood and urine test. I spoke to his manager again last night about the same thing. The call last night lasted 15 or 20 minutes. I mainly spoke to his manager he got on and off the phone real quick."

Manny Pacquiao confirmed that the conversation took place and gave a similar account of the convo to a news station in his home country. Manny also stated that Floyd agreed to a 50/50 split if the fight happens.

Mayweather was also quoted as saying: "There is no fight I want more than the Manny Pacquiao fight. I guess he said he agreed to fight. The only thing that is stopping this fight right now, that I truly believe is stopping the fight, is Bob Arum."

This goes back to an older post I did about how I felt this fight will not happen because of Top Rank head Bob Arum. I don't see this fight happening unless Manny forces the issue.

Ok now that we've gotten that out of our systems... back to Football 24/7!!!

A young (in age, not size) Prince Fielder

Who the fuck is this kid's dad that let him go outside like this?? Gotta respect his Jordan game though (VIs).....

If J-Rod was smart about the bet he would have required me to wear a Zubaz shirt or pants. Go GIANTS!!!

Well..... That's that

I'm ready to post to non-NFL Playoffs related stuff but I guess I first need to address the elephant in the room...

Jose "J-Rod" Rodriguez won in our head to head battle (huge PAUSE) and his team moves on to the Super Bowl. As he stated, a hard fought game that could have went either way (down to one costly play in OT mind you). Not the way he lathered up and manhandled G$, R. Freeman and Duck Sauce in weeks prior.

I'll be wearing the NY Giants tshirt ALL DAY Super Bowl Sunday, as I'm sure J-Rod will be FaceTime'ing me all day to prove so.

"So we gotta know DM..."

Did a 9-7 team win on some bullshit to make it to the Super Bowl?

Seems that way.

Does hearing and reading all these posts from J-Rod sting like gonorrhea on a cold morning?

Fuck yea.

Am I pulling for Brady now?

Fuck the Super Bowl.

Am I bitter??

Good night 49ers

Sorry.... I just had too. Turn up your sound to enjoy the music.

On to the Super Bowl

As I stated in my earlier blog, the NFC Championship game was a mere formality as the Giants are now the NFC Champs moving on to the Super Bowl. I won't go into details or try to dissect the game as it has been done to death the past few days. All I will say is that the 49ers played a tough game and have nothing to be ashamed about (except for those 2 turnovers). In any case I now await the picture of Da Man in NYG gear as stipulated by our wager. Hopefully we will all get to see it soon on the show. Now on to NE.

Patriot quarterback Tom Brady did not take the news of the NY Giants advancing to the Super Bowl well. Teammates stated he bawled like a little bitch once he found out he would have to yet again face Big Blue. An unnamed source described Tom as "inconsolable". It took Entourage's Jerry Ferrara aka Turtle to calm Brady down.

Who will we face?

Seeing how this NFC Joke... I mean Championship game is a mere formality, I'm now in the Who will we face at the Super Bowl mode. Actually I guess I should say Who will we be beating at the Super Bowl.

Giants vs Ravens

When these two teams faced each other at Super Bowl 35 it was quite the unpleasant experience for the NY Giants and their fans. That season the Ravens were touted for their superb defense (not much has changed) but had a questionable offense. The Ravens took that criticism to heart and spanked the G-Men 34-7.

Facing the Ravens would be a perfect opportunity to get revenge. The Ravens still have a great defense but Eli Manning and the Giants offense are pretty much unstoppable at this point. Flaaco has been called out by his own team who have no confidence in him. If somehow they get past the Brady Bunch it will be a LONG Super Bowl Sunday for the Ravens against the powerhouse Giants.

Giants vs Patriots

Super Bowl 42 was AWESOME. At least for Giants fans. The Brady Bunch were undefeated. The Giants had nearly blemished their perfect season in the final game of the regular season and were prime for a rematch. The Giants defense dictated the tone of that game getting to Brady often. A miracle catch didn't hurt and the Giants went on to become Super Bowl Champs.

My take is I rather play the Ravens. Reason being we owe them one. We already beat the Pats in a Super Bowl now its times to give the Ravens a little whup ass. The Patriots will more than likely advance to face the Giants in a rematch that should be a ratings blockbuster. In either case look for Eli to get ring numero dos!

Wrap It Up Tour bus to be renamed?

Hello folks. I've just gotten some inside dish to what may be happening to the Wrap It Up tour bus this weekend <checks blackberry>. Ok I have just gotten confirmation from one of my sources that the Wrap It Up Tour bus will be renamed the "Altiery Express" after this weekend's NFC Championship game. As you well know Chris Altiery hopped on the bus 2 weekends ago to join Greg G$ Alford whose been on the bus since Week 10. William Ng joined the bus crew this past Sunday after the crushing Green Bay defeat at the hands of the NY Giants. Word is that a special red and gold seat has been installed for Ron "Da Man" Altiery on the bus for his anticipated arrival this Sunday.

The Wrap It Up Tour Bus has had the Green Bay Packer logo added to the front of the vehicle. Its tradition to have the logo of the latest team to join the bus crew on the front of the bus.

Keep checking the site for more inside info as the week progresses.

The Mother Of All Weekends...

Finally.....

FINALLY, the playoffs have returned to SAN FRANCISCO!!

Sorry folks for the delay in posting. No lack of internet this time. No The Man trying to stick it to me (pause). Or Ollie aka 3.0 taking my time up telling me, "heard that? daddy? fire truck!" And the fire truck rings out a 1 minute later (is his super power, super hearing. Or is it just hearing fire trucks from a great distance...).  Nah, just been flat out busy. But enough of that. Here's what we want. The NFL Divisional weekend.

No time for in depth analysis [Hov voice] "I know, I know. Whatchu want me to do, I'm sorry". We'll get into the nitty gritty come Game Day, for 3 out of the 4 games (cmon, you're not watching HOU v BAL, be serious). But what you do get is a chance to join us Game Day chat/video, depending if J-Rod is getting fully dressed on Sat and Sun.

If you want in, just hit us up at JRADM. We'll be talking shit the whole game and breaking down the games live...

Predictions:

Da Man:
HOU v BAL, 14-24
NO v SF, 28-24
NE v DEN, 35-7
NYG v GB, 27-20.

Goodbye Nicks! You were a great receiver

So during my lunch break I am strolling through Time Square and happen to find this little store called Lids. Lids sells hats, kicks and just about any other sports gear you see being worn by inner city youths. I decided to walk in and see what Giants jerseys they had. After looking through their limited selection (Manning, Tuck, Nicks) I decided on purchasing a Hakeem Nicks jersey (replica). Now this does not bold well for Mr Nicks and I will tell you why.

I seem to be some kind of death clock for any professional athlete whose jersey I buy. Let me take you through the history.

1. Year 2003 - Kerry Collins

I purchase a Kerry Collins NYG jersey in 2003. At that time I was going on and on how he was the second best Giants QB ever second only to Phil Simms. The following year he was released by the Giants and Kurt Warner became their starter.

2. Year 2004 - Kurt Warner

So in 2004 I was hyped. I was a fan of Kurt Warner when he was running the Greatest Show on Turf with the Rams. I was excited to have him on my team so I ran out and got his jersey (white and red road jersey which I still own). Midway through the season Kurt gets hurt and Eli Manning steps in. The rest is Giants history.

3. Year 2006 -Tiki Barber

So Tiki Barber had been the Giants feature running back for a few years and was one of the top running backs in the game. He was easily one of my favorite NY Giants so I decided What the hell... let me pick up his jersey. Tiki retired at the end of the 2006 season.

What does this mean for Hakeem Nicks? Am I the jersey equivalent of the Madden curse? Only time will tell.

Mayweather calls out Manny

In what has become an interesting turn of events, Floyd Mayweather took to twitter yesterday afternoon to call out Manny Pacquiao. Money tweeted, "Manny Pacquiao I'm calling you out let's fight May 5th and give the world what they want to see." He followed with "My Jail Sentence was pushed back because the date was locked in. Step up Punk." This was obviously coming since the Pacquiao - Marquez fight. I, along with many others predicted that Floyd would be more than willing to fight Manny after watching that performance. The obstacle stopping this "MEGA FIGHT" will no longer be Money Mayweather. The one reason why this fight will NEVER happen is Top Rank CEO Bob Arum.

Bob Arum is currently in the Philippines meeting with Team Pacquiao to discuss 4 possible opponents (none name Mayweather) for a June 9th fight (Mayweather will be in jail by this point).  Why after all the back and forth and all the money that will be made from this fight would Bob Arum not let it happen? Simple, he doesn't think Manny can win. A loss to Mayweather would more than likely cause Manny to retire and focus on politics (now his true passion) unless it was a controversial loss. Arum is not willing to cash in Manny on one super fight when he can make more off of Manny if he has 3 to 4 more fights before calling it a career. Here are some of the excuses Bob Arum has given:

1. "We're fighting in June, one of the four guys" (Juan Manuel Marquez, Miguel Cotto, Timothy Bradley and Lamont Peterson)

2. "If Manny feels he wants to go in May, he will tell me. I want to make sure Manny's cuts are healed. We won't fall under this kind of pressure. June is much more likely for Manny's fight, not May."

3. "What if they fought and Manny started bleeding on the first punch? I don't know if Manny is available to fight in May. I have no idea. I haven't talked to him; I haven't seen him. Seems to me, June is more likely based on what his plastic surgeon said." (it takes 6 month for a cut to heal?)

4. "I don't even know if Mayweather will be licensed [by the Nevada State Athletic Commission] before he serves his time"

More than likely Floyd will end up fighting Saul "Canelo" Alvarez on May 5th.

Canelo is a heavy hitting young Mexican fighter, the current undefeated light middle weight champ and an exciting fighter to watch. But to match him up against Floyd at this point in his career is a mistake. Although Floyd has never faced anyone with the power Canelo has I think Floyd's experience and ring generalship will be just too much for the kid. Secondly there is the issue of weight. Canelo is a in a higher weight class than Floyd which means he would have to drop down to make the fight happen hampering some of his power.

Now can I soley blame Arum if this fight doesn't happen? Not at all. In the end Manny Pacquiao is the one that can force Bob Arum's hand.

If he tells Arum he wants Floyd on May 5th and also comes out publicly to declare he wants the fight then Arum will have no choice but to make it happen. I've never known Manny to back down from any fight and I don't think he is worried about losing to Floyd. He's never ducked any fighter and I wouldn't expect him to start now. But Arum is crafty guy. If there is a way of stopping this fight from happening he will find it.

Up Updated: Whose Next!?!?

This is an update from  a previous post about my previous post
All the red remarks are my (J-Rod's) conclusions of Da Man's previous comments.

1. The Giants Pass Def: The "unstoppable" "explosive" "juggernaut" pass D is ranked 29th out of 32 teams. But look at the last couple of games, the Giants look like they are running through offensive linemen!! Looks are deceiving so lets go inside the numbers. They are ranked 29th giving up 255.1 y/g. Maybe the D was much aligned in the early-middle part of the season. So how bout in the last 5 games? They've given up, 369, 321, 185, 258, 289 yards in the last 5. That's 284.4 y/g, 29 y/g higher!

Conclusion: The Giants D gave up 247 TOTAL yards against ATL

Are they getting to the QBs of late? Sure, they got to Rex Grossman, Mark Sanchez and Tony Romo (with a swollen hand). Yes, they got to those guys. But whats the point of getting to the QB on 1st down only to give up a 30yd pass on 2nd?

On the flip side, Matt Ryan has thrown no INTs in his last 4, correct. But Ryan has also thrown for a shade under 300 yards in the last 5* (*Matt played very little in the 1st half as the Falcons went up 42-0, so the number reflect 4 of the last 5 games). So a QB coming in averaging just under 300yds against a team giving up just under 300 yds and a key matchup is the pass rush? Huh?

Conclusion: Matt Ryan passed for 199 yards against the Giants last night (4.9 yard per reception)

2. Juilo Jones: He wasn't mentioned as a key matchup. Why? Because J-Rod has no idea who he is.

Conclusion: J. Jones was irrelevant. 7 receptions for 64 yards

Now, my personal take:

How can you vault your Def AND say it'll be a shootout in the same post?? SMH

Conclusion: Da Man was correct. This was not a shoot out. Final score Giants 24 ATL 2

Monday Morning Hangover

Well folks, we have a ton of things to cover this morning so lets get to it.

Top most irrelevant item of the day

The NY Giants utterly decimated the Atlanta Falcons yesterday to advance to the next round to face off against the Packers. Why is this irrelevant? Because as I stated last week this was a game that shouldn't even have had to been played. The NFL just should have given the Giants a bye until next week's game against Green Bay. The Falcons continue to show that time honored fact that what you do in the regular season means nada in the playoffs. Elite Manning had another "mint" performance and Hakeem Nicks added insult to injury with his dirty bird celebration in the end zone.

Signs the Mayans were right... The end is here in 2012

Tim Tebow (with an assist from Ty) led his Denver Broncos (in what maybe one of the hugest upset in NFL playoff history) to a win over the heavily favored Pittsburgh Steelers. Tim Tebow showed poise, precision and incredible leadership in last night's game. At this point I am 99% sure he is the Anti Christ. Tim Tebowmania continues to sweep the nation as it has even hit the garden state affecting the Green Bay Packer household of the Ngs.

Can Tom Brady and the Patriots stop the madness of Tebowness?  Will Tim Tebow fall under the Brady spell? All we can do is hope and pray that the Broncos playoff run comes to a final end in NE next Saturday.

Biggest Fail of the Weekend

Final Thoughts

And that brings us to my final thoughts of the day. Now I heard this morning that the Packers are 8.5 favorites over the Giants next week. Really?!?! KAMAN!!! I have to believe that spread will drop as game day gets closer. I understand the Packers have to be the favorites but the spread being more than a touchdown is just ridiculous. Its par for the course as the Giants have been in this situation before. We will once again have to show the world just how good we really are. So fasten your seat belts folks as Elite "I am MINT" Manning takes on Discount Double Check.

And Dance we shall.... and enjoy the hate

I will touch on the jealousy of the earlier blog below in a bit. Let's talk about things that matter. I was just wondering how Knicks fans who also follow the Jets felt about this....

Here's looking at you G$. Thoughts? Concerns?

As for the blog prior to this one I believe the correct title is

IRRELEVANT 49ers FAN SAYS WHAT!?!?!?

I enjoy the haterade, especially when it has a shot of Kettle One fear dropped in for good measure (Shaken, not stirred). I just love the fear emanating from so many fans who prayed that the Giants would not make it to the playoffs. Alas their prayers weren't answered and its time for Big Blue to take all those fans dreams of winning a Super Bowl and making them go Nite Nite.

UPDATED: Who's Next

The JRADM show needs to clarify a few minor details from the previous post:

It's a shame J-Rod has to resort to mis-leading stats in order to sway the readers view on this matchup. I, Da Man, have no "horse in this race" so here's the actual numbers.

Whose Next!?!?

As the newly crowned NFC East champs have disposed of Romo and his Boooyzzzzz, its on to face an irrelevant team that really has no business being in the playoffs. If you said the Falcons, you are correct. Why do I not take this team seriously? Well the Giants are 3 point favorites in the early line. Look for that point spread to increase as we get closer to game day. In their last meeting in 2009 the Giants defeated a MUCH better Atlanta football team.

Keys of the match up

ATL

1. Matt Ryan:  Matt Ryan has been efficient  all season long. He has not thrown a pick in his last 4 games. Unfortunately those last 4 opponents did not have the explosive Giant's pass rush.

Giants
1. Elite Manning: We have all heard the hype of V. Cruz but Elite Manning is the Giants best player, has the ability to single handedly lift the team to victory with late game heroics.

2. Giants Pass Rush: The Giants had 42 sacks headed into Week 17 with 22.5 of those coming from Osi Umenyiora and the unstoppable juggernaut Jason Pierre-Paul.

This game has the possibility of turning turn into a shootout as both teams have struggled in their secondary this season. If that happens the NY Giants have too much fire power for the Falcons to keep pace and with the Giants defensive front 4 causing havoc, Matt Ryan will be in for a long afternoon.
